The Municipality of San Jose collected 200 illegal slot machines in several businesses. Besides, they had to close eight rooms that were equipped only with these machines. In each one of them there were between 20 and 30 slots.

The law that regulates gambling reads: “All games in which money loss or gain depends on luck and not the skills or ability of the player, are forbidden”. Chance must not participate in the game in order for it to be legal.

Precisely, many of the slot machines give out cash games and they depend on chance to win, according to the considerations of the municipal authorities. A warehouse has been rented in order to store the seized machines.
