Eighth Wonder, the Las Vegas-based casino developer competing for a casino license in Singapore, unveiled this week its project. It includes a soccer stadium named after Pele to honor the soccer legend and several wedding pavilions especially designed by fashion designer Vera Wang.
The integrated resort project also features a spa and wellness center managed by spiritual guide Deepak Chopra and an oceanarium operated by Earth Echo International, a company directed by Philippe Cousteau, grandson of the famous French explorer Jacques Cousteau.
Eighth Wonder’s project would cost S$5.5 billion and would imply the construction of 10 hotels, a theater with approximately 7,500 seats and 35 attractions designed by Robert Ward, cofounder of Universal Studios. The complex is called Harry’s Island.
The two other groups competing for the license have also revealed some details about their projects. Genting International PLC, has said that its main attraction will be a Universal Studios theme park. On the other hand, the joint venture of Kerzner International and CapitaLand Ltd., has showed its plans to build a futuristic water theme park.
