Casino officials declared that it’s time for gamblers to redeem slot machine tokens or keep them as souvenirs.

The downtown casino will receive gambler’s tokens until Thursday 11:59 pm, after that, tokens will have no monetary value. This came as part of the transformation the casino suffered one year ago when it changed slot machines for coinless slot machines.

Casino operators said the paper-in, paper-out system implemented presently is more convenient to customers.

About 42 bags of tokens have been switched by costumers (worth 3 million dollars) since the change.

Casino officials said that in about three weeks a metal shredder would be rented to destroy all the collected tokens.
