During the season 2005-2006 a new gambling record was established in the 193 gambling rooms that are in France. The gaining of these locals has gone up to over 2,700 million euros, which implicates a growth of 2.16%.

In addition to that, the union is currently fighting against a decree that a could allow the automation of the traditional table games such us blackjack, roulette or poker.

The casino workers believe that, in case the mentioned decree is approved, there can be about 3,500 employees fired. That is why they decided to go on strike on New Year’s eve, one of the dates that gives the casinos the highest profits. The strike was supported for 30 to 50 casinos from France.
